Fall in the Hill Country

As we reach the end of August and can begin to envision the cooler days and nights in the near future, I highly recommend planning a Fall trip to the Hill Country. Each town seems to have its own way to celebrate the season with themed events and activites. Foliage is prevelent around the area, and although you won't expect to see New England-type foliage, it is remarkable in its own right. Wineries, state parks, and local farms all have their own unique fall flavor as well.

In the Highland Lakes area, specifically, Marble Falls is planning a "Back to the Future" weekend on Main Street in October. Many of the local businesses are planning to participate. "Back to the Future" will be shown on the town square, a DeLorean will be on display, and there will be themed costumes, events, and plenty of activities for the whole family. It should be a lot of fun and great way to get to know some of the shops and business owners in town.

If you are looking for something a little less 80's, Sweet Berry Farm will begin their fall season at the end of September with pumpkins, a corn maze, and plenty of fall activities for kids and adults. I have written about Sweet Berry Farm before in this blog. It never disappoints and we, as a family, are counting the days until it opens for its fall season.

Lastly, as fire pit season begins around the area, you can count on The Horseshoe Bay Resort to transition to autumn as well. Campfires, movies on the lawn, s'mores, and other activities are likely to be offered as the Resort continues to provide year-round activities for the whole family. It is really a great time to visit the area.
