Vanishing Texas River Cruise

My family and I like to find new adventures. Having just recently relocated to the Highland Lakes area, we are finding that there are a lot of new adventures to discover; one of them is the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. If you do not know the area, there are six lakes that comprise the Highland Lakes, all formed by dams along the Colorado River - Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Travis, and Lake Austin running northwest to southeast.

The largest of the lakes - Buchanan, is the furthest north and is contained in both Burnet and Llano counties. On the East Lake side sits the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. This company provides a number of opportunities to get on the lake with one of their signature cruises a 2-hour adventure through the mouth of the Colorado River and a few miles up it. There is wildlife, canyons, cliffs, and even a waterfall along the cruise. My familiy had a great time, both getting to it and then on the cruise.

In terms of Real Estate, Buchanan tends to be more affordable than the other more populated lakes. There is still waterfront property for under a million dollars and it is not as crowded. That said, it also has fewer services, restaurants, etc. than the other lakes. If you are looking for some waterfront property then I recommend Lake Buchanan as a place to look.

And if you are just looking for some adventure, this lake has a lot to offer!
